Walk where George Washington and other Revolutionary War figures camped and navigated the waters of New Jersey’s “West Coast." From New Jersey’s historic capital, Trenton, through the charming riverside towns of Titusville, West Amwell, Lambertville, Delaware Township, Stockton, Raven Rock, Byram, Kingwood, Frenchtown, and Milford, contemplate the area‘s rich history and architecture of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Experience museums, galleries and fine artisan restaurants and shopping.
Spectacular views attract hikers, birders, fisherman, photographers and artists along the Federally protected Wild and Scenic section of the Delaware River running parallel to the Byway. Surround your self with the experiences Mother Nature provides, within the Delaware& Raritan Canal State Park and the Canal’s towpath, visible along the entire length of the Byway. The D& R Canal State Park is perfect for biking, canoeing & kayaking, cross country skiing, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking, birding, fishing or just relaxing.
